Free Dental Services for Teens
Titirangi Village Dental is registered to provide free dentistry for your child from Year 9 until they turn 18.
Under the Ministry of Health’s publicly funded dental care scheme your teen is entitled to one free dental examination per year to check teeth for decay and look at their gum and mouth health catching any dental problems and advising on good teeth cleaning techniques. If there are any other problems like a tooth ache during the year, they can make another free appointment, where the tooth ache will be assessed.
Our free dental service not only ensures your teen’s teeth are clean and healthy, but just as importantly we teach them how to look after their teeth and gums at home. Establishing good oral health habits in their teenage years can make all the difference to maintaining a great smile in adulthood.
Our free dental service for teens includes:
- Annual dental check-up
- Teeth cleaning, scaling and polishing
- Dental x-rays
- Fillings
- Preventative treatments such as fissure sealants or fluoride treatment
- Tooth extractions (non-orthodontic)
- Root canals
- Restorative treatment
We will let you know if more extensive dental treatment is required which is not included under the free service. However, rest assured that we can still take care of all of your teenager’s dental needs under one roof.
